Home Carpet Shampooer Options

Cleaning your carpet can be a tough thing to get started on. The hardest part about it is just knowing where to look. Do you hire someone to professionally clean it? Do you rent a carpet shampooer at your local grocery or home improvement store? Or do you just go buy a carpet shampooer and do it yourself? All of these are viable options but each has it’s pros and cons and how do you know which is the best carpet shampooer?

Getting your carpets done professionally is the most thorough and efficient, although it is also the most expensive. They are professionals for a reason, so they have to do a good job or they wouldn’t still be in business. This is the easiest way to go because you don’t have to do any research of your own about home carpet shampooer options, you just have to call and do what they ask you too. They do the work for you and you reap the benefits. The cons to this option is that you usually have to schedule out an entire day where you can’t be on your carpet, and once they are done you usually have to wait twenty four hours. Oh and did I mention it is expensive. Unless you have the luxury of wasting money on the convenience of professionals there are other more cost efficient ways to get your carpet done.

Renting a machine is also a legitimate option. Most grocery and home improvement stores have machines that you can call and reserve and rent out. These are nice because they are professional cleaning machines and because you are doing it yourself it is a lot cheaper. If you are effective you can usually get all your carpets done within a day otherwise you will be paying a lot more. Downsides to rentals are that you have to haul them back and forth, and also you don’t know what damage has been done to the machines in the past. Make sure you check your machine thoroughly before you rent it or you will have a very frustrating cleaning day.

The last of the home carpet shampooer options is to just go out and buy your own cleaner. You can actually get some very good deals on top of the line models ranging from $150 – $400. These are nice if you intend to clean your carpets more than once a year or if you would like a powerful stain remover inside of your own home in case of emergencies. This is definitely the most hands on option, and you must do a lot of research before you buy, but can also be the most efficient and save you the most money in the long run.
